If you are a busy body, moderating several social media accounts, then I’m sure you are always learning new things every day in social media. As you know each platform has its strengths and limitations.
I am sharing with you eight amazing hacks, used by me on daily basis learned from the best out there. So here goes:
1.Uploading GIFS to Instagram
Certain things are best communicated with GIFs, but the question lies, how can you upload GIFs to Instagram? Simple, all you have to do is download an app called GIFShare , then select a GIF from a library, which will then convert to a video allowing you to upload to Instagram and giving your feed eye-catching posts.
2. Downloading Twitter Archive
Ten tweets a day, scheduling tweets, remembering tweets, so wouldn’t it be handy to have a list of every tweet you’ve ever posted. Watch the video below, it will show you how to download a csv file containing that very information.
3. See Restricted LinkedIn Profile Search Results
Do you ever look for people on Linkedin, limited information right, as its being restricted by your membership level? As majority of Linkedin prodile are indexed by Google, you can now use search engine to do a more extensive search.
For example, if you cannot access the full profile information of someone in Linkedin, go to Google and type the following:
site:linkedin.com “name of person”
If you are looking for Content Managers who mention London in their profile, you can type the following into Google;
site:linkedin.com//pub “content manager” London
With this hack, you can now see much of the information Linkedin’s barriers hide from you.
4.Mute Trolls on Facebook
According to the one and only Guy Kawasaki, one of the most efficient methods for dealing with trolls on facebook is simply to click “Hide” button.
This amazing trick will accomplish two goals in one, as I found out.
First, the troll can still see their comment, and guess what they won’t even realize it ahs been hidden, resulting to no more angry emails, messages or more trolls.
Second, it will increase your user engagement stats without subjecting your audience to troll nonsense.
5.Publish Facebook post Late at Night
A recent study by BuzzSumo, shows that the best time to post your audience on Facebook is between 10pm and midnight,
This is when people are more relaxed, and chilling at the end of their day. It is also when people have fewest distractions and ultimately leading to an increase in user engagement.
6.Loophole 140 character limit on twitter
I know it can be frustrating when you have messages to share with your twitter audience, which are more than 140 characters. Well, not to worry there is an easy loophole for all you happy tweeters, simply follow these steps:
Tweet as you would normally, ending with a spine-chiller, then reply to your own tweet (after removing the @mention of your name) in your stream.
Voila, you have found the freedom of speech over 140 characters limit.
7.Unmissable Call To Action
A great way to engage with your audience and make sure they are aware of your event, kickstarter project, giveaway or a product that you may have coming up is to:
Use an Instagram DM them with a 15 second video with a CTA to whatever you are offering.
Add a 10-second video to your Snapchat story, to announce your offer.
8.Use More Hashtags on Instagram
Research shows that hashtags are the most efficient way to get your posts in front of thousands of new eyes and reach a wider audience with your content.
It is recommended to use 7 hashtags per post, any less you are not taking full advantage of the potential, any more it and your content could be seen as spam.
It doesn’t matter whether you are a restaurant or tech startup, social media is one of the ingredients to success.
Luckily for you , there are plenty of pros like me who have tried, failed and learned their social media lessons the hard way so that you don’t have to.
